The Opelousas-Eunice Public Library Performing Arts Series will feature free performances for general audiences. On the scheduled dates, performances will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Liberty Theater in Eunice and at 2:00 p.m. at the South Park Teen Center in Opelousas. Scheduled: Roger Day, singer/songwriter for children (Tuesday, June 2); The Healing Force, African storytelling and music (Thursday, June 11); Bobby Norfok, Emmy award winning storyteller (Tuesday, June 16); Steve Belliveau, Getting Excited About Science (Friday, July 10) and Mike Anderson, musician/storyteller (Thursday, July 16). The performances are funded, in part, by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, as administered by the Acadiana Arts Council. As space may be limited, groups of 20 or more are asked to contact the Library in advance.
