As part of a planned upgrade to Internet connectivity, bandwidth at the Opelousas Public Library has been significantly increased from T1 to T9. The increase is currently being funded by the State Library of Louisiana. There are also plans to increase connectvity to T3 at the Eunice Public Library.  As future funding for connectivity has been jeopardized by decreased funding from the State Library of Louisiana, the Opelousas-Eunice Public Library has applied for, and has received approval through the Federal e-rate program, for an 80% discount , beginning July 1,  on the much needed bandwith increase.

The Library is also planning to introduce wi-fi (wireless connectivity) in each branch before the end of June.
